Joseph R. Grider, DDS
Dr. Grider received his Bachelor of Arts degree from DePauw University with a major in Biological Sciences and pre-medical studies. He then earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Indiana University School of Dentistry. Following dental school, Dr. Grider completed his hospital-based residency training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery with the University of Miami School of Medicine at Jackson Memorial Hospital. His surgical residency training included rotations at several hospitals throughout the Miami area, including main Jackson Memorial Hospital in downtown Miami, Jackson South Community Hospital, the University of Miami Hospital, Miami-VA Hospital, and also at the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, Virginia. During his final year of residency training, Dr. Grider served as Chief Resident in managing both the elective and trauma services in the Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
His intensive surgical training included jaw reconstruction utilizing state of the art techniques in dental implants and bone grafting, management of maxillofacial trauma, dentofacial deformities, tumor and reconstruction, dentoalveolar surgery, TMJ disorders, and facial cosmetic surgery. Dr. Grider also trained extensively in the medical management of patients and in providing IV sedation and general anesthesia for the comfort of his patients. On an annual basis, Dr. Grider attends various educational seminars to further his knowledge and maintain his surgical techniques at the highest level.
Dr. Grider now focuses his practice primarily on the replacement of missing and failing (decayed, infected, broken, fractured, loose, and unsalvageable) teeth utilizing the most cutting edge technologies available.
